Choosing which loan will be the best for you can be a daunting task, but at Community First we make the choice as easy as possible. It all comes down to how much you wish to borrow, how much you can afford to repay and whether or not you have security to cover your loan.

Generally our loans are of two different types:

• Mortgage Secured Loans
• Unsecured Loans

Mortgage Secured Loans are those where you offer a mortgage over real property, usually a house, unit or block of land, to cover the loan. The amount of a mortgage secured loan is usually larger and, because the loan is secured, the interest rate charged is lower.

Unsecured Loans are those where no mortgage is taken to secure the loan. The amount borrowed is usually lower and the time taken to repay the loan (the term of the loan) is shorter. Interest rates, whilst very competitive, are higher than for loans secured by mortgage.

Our Loan Calculator will allow you to calculate the repayments you will need to make on various amounts borrowed and to work out how much you can borrow. Though we go out of our way to help, we are very careful at Community First not to allow people to get too deeply into debt.

If you want to borrow up to $5,000...

a Community First Personal Line of Credit might be for you. Security isn't generally required and you have the full amount of your credit limit available to you, less the amount you have already drawn. You only pay interest on the amount you use.

If you want to borrow up to $35,000...

Community First makes unsecured loans up to $35,000 to approved applicants. These are our Personal Best Loan and Car Cash Loan. We give you quick approval and competitive fixed or variable interest rates. See our Question and Answer section on the features of each type of rate.

If you want to borrow up to $1,000,000...

you'll need one of our Mortgage Secured Loans . We have a wide range of loans available, so whether you are buying a home, making an investment in property, or getting into the Sharemarket, we have a loan just for you.
